Sistan and Baluchestan

Sistan and Baluchestan province located in south east of Iran and a part of it is bordered by Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is stretched to the Persian Gulf. The capital of sistan and baluchestan province is Zahedan city. Zabol , Chabahar and Mirjaveh are three important cities in sistan and baluchestan.
Beneath the relentless sun of Sistan and Baluchestan, a rugged highway stretches from Zahedan to quetta, which is a silent witness to centuries of commerce and cultural exchange.

History of sistan and baluchestan
 

sistan and baluchestan is a very historical province and its history goes back to the Achaemenid era. It has a significant role in the historical silk road and has a strategic role  in Iran even today.
sistan and baluchestan was occupied by Baloch people around Hamun-e Jaz Murian basin hundreds of years ago.
sistan and baluchestan province and Zahedan are located very close to the hot “Lut” desert . Lut is one of the hottest deserts in the world. In summers the weather temperature reaches 60 degrees and few animals like Sand cat have the ability to live in hot and dry deserts like Lut. Lut is unique in flora and fauna and many adventurists visit Lut not in summer but in winter.
In the southern borders and shores of Persian Gulf you can find Mangrove ( Avicennia marina) shrub marina floating on water making a beautiful and fabulous scene on the horizon.
In sistan and baluchestan province you can find Iranian panther (Panthera pardus tulliana), endemic wild cat and Sand cat too.These two cats are endangered species and now are under protection rules against poaching. In the border of Iran and Pakistan you can find Trans Caspian sheep, a beautiful and rare animal endemic of Iran and Pakistan, this sheep is an endangered species too and under protection.

Beside all problems the Sistani people are kind, supportive, and hard working. They love guests and tourists and they like to be helpful.
The outfit of sistan and baluchestan people is very beautiful, men wear baggy trousers and a special shirt and A big whitish Turban to protect them from hot weather and sand storms. In sistan and baluchestan we have high speed storms for 80 days and in these sandstorms the only shelter for people in nature is their clothing and outfit.
The women of sistan and Baluchestan have a very beautiful colorful needle-worked dress normally in black or other colors, they wear a very colorful and decorated scarf and sometimes a mask according to their own tradition.
Most of the people living in sistan and baluchestan are Muslims and their sect is Sunni Muslim. There are some other Muslims, Shias, which are mixed by the other sects, they live a peaceful life together.
The sistan and baluchestan people are mostly farmers and keep goats and camels because of shortage in water.
Beside all shortages and problems, the people of sistan and baluchestan are real heroes. They are happy even if they are not very rich. They love music and their music is very similar to the music of Pakistan and Indian music. They love dancing and their dance is like Pakistan and Indian dancing too.
