Bisheh Waterfall, according to administrative divisions, is one of the waterfalls located in Khorramabad County, in the village of Bisheh. Bisheh Waterfall is recognized as the 48th national natural monument and was registered in Iran’s Natural Heritage List by the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization on March 17, 2009 (27 Esfand 1387 in the Iranian calendar).
Bisheh Waterfall is a natural tourist attraction in Lorestan Province and is recognized as the 48th national monument. The waterfall consists of several small and large cascades that flow down from the mountains and cliffs, eventually reaching the permanent and water-rich Dez River in Lorestan. The height of the waterfall to the point of hitting the ground is about 48 meters, and from there to the river, it is about 10 meters. The width of the waterfall’s crest is approximately 20 meters. Bisheh Waterfall is located near lush oak forests and the beautiful village of Bisheh. The railway passing through this pristine natural setting creates a stunning view. The cool and fresh climate, greenery, and scenic mountains make this location attractive and worth visiting. Above the waterfall, opposite the railway station, there are numerous springs that emerge from the mountain, flow past the station, and form Bisheh Waterfall. After visiting the waterfall, you can also explore the village. This large and beautiful village is located next to the waterfall, and the villagers maintain relatively close interactions with nearby towns and tourists visiting the area. The village hosts one of Iran’s most beautiful waterfalls.
The waterfall is 65 kilometers from Khorramabad city. Its height is 48 meters to the point of hitting the ground, with an additional 10 meters to reach the Dez River. The crest width is 20 meters. Numerous springs above the waterfall, opposite the station, create the waterfall after passing by the railway. Due to its proximity to other beautiful natural sites such as vast oak forests, Bisheh village, and the scenic railway station, the area is considered an excellent tourist destination. Bisheh Waterfall attracts many visitors because it is located beside the Tehran-South railway line and is easily accessible. In the past, reaching the waterfall was only possible by train.
To the east of the waterfall are the Kolah Kuh-e Azgan hills. The Cheshmeh Parian village can be seen in the distant highlands to the east. The direct connection of Bisheh village to the waterfall is also of special importance.
By train from Dorud, it is located 30 km southeast of Dorud, about 35 minutes from the city. By car, it is 130 km from Dorud. The waterfall is situated next to Bisheh railway station on the Tehran-South route. There is also a drivable asphalt road from Khorramabad through two routes: Abestan and Garit, and from Azna to Sekvand, covering approximately 60 km. Bisheh Waterfall is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iran’s dry plateau and is among the most picturesque in the country. Visiting such a region in this arid plateau provides one of the most beautiful experiences for local and domestic tourists as well as international visitors.
We hope that in the near future, as part of the Sana Persian team, we will have the opportunity to welcome you to Khorramabad and Bisheh Waterfall. Looking forward to that day.
